Most of DAO communication happens via traditional web2 means of Messaging like Slack, Telegram and Discord where the product focus lays within hierarchical structures of centralized businesses and are not built for Decentralized Organizations. The security and encryption of such systems is managed by a centralized platform operator often leading to vast data leaks.
In addition to security concerns, such communication systems are disintermediating DAOs. Contributors are forced to utilize a large number of applications and tools to efficiently handle day-to-day operations. This results in a constant state of juggling off-chain messaging apps, on-chain governance systems, DAO communities and many more systems.
Instead of relying on the status quo, DAO's need focused messaging platforms that are in line with the ethos of a decentralized future. At Motherboard, DAO contributors use the base functionality of private key encryption to ensure security of the Messages that they are sending and receiving, while staying within a native DAO platform.
